Hi Rebekah,

I’m loving your posts. They are very articulate and provide specific, usefull advise & insights.

I tried the site and I can really see the potential. Fun to use. Love the dog, btw. Excellent usability and guided step-by-step communication with the user. Also like the ludic aspect of the design. I had fun and hope to be back soon.

Keep on pushing through and writing great posts.

Don’t listen to what customers say. They don’t know your road map or your vision. The population size is almost always to small. Person Y likes grapes, person X likes zumba, and all that would lead to endless pivoting.

Stick to your vision, build what you want to build, your vision. Customers can’t see your vision and grasp or comprehend it, at this stage. They will understand when it is there right in front of them and changing how they interact/ do stuff on a daily basis.

With that said. Listen to your customers. Not to what they say, but to what they do. How they interact with your site. That is really the only truth. Data driven product management is really where it is at. I wish I had understood that earlier.

Lastly, don’t put everything on yourself, that will only fry your circuits.

It doesn’t matter that things aren’t perfect, it matters whether you can implement change
quickly with low ceremony. If you focus on perfection you might become risk averse, so instead focus on being able to change things quickly and easily and encourage everyone to to do that. I don’t think it pays to react to customer criticism in the small. In the large however, you will already have a feeling for which changes suck versus those which are merely inconvenient. Fix the things that matter. Your IT infrastucture people might need a lift. Can you release several times a day? Can you selectively release features to some customers but not all? This kind of thing can keep you agile and get you feedback. Best of luck.

the web design is great though. Facebook is bland as f*ck. Twitter is, well, trivial really. It may catch on with under 30 years olds and people that travel.

Firstly – I’m sick of representation and forms of media escapism – somehow the antithesis of this seems like a real market at the moment.

Secondly, its a very user friendly and genuine platform, but I’m not sure what the point of it is.
