I have a real empathy with your position as it sounds very similar to mine. One thing I would recommend is “The Lean Startup by Eric Ries,” if you haven’t already read it. The validated learning process would be really useful as you work to asses what customers actually want. The IMVU case study in the book has some synergies with your current situation.
