Hi Rebekah, thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences on this topic. I recently launched my own tech start-up and so your experiences are a valuable insight into what to expect as I grow (hopefully!). I’ve shied away from ‘women in business’ style networks or as an identity, as I’d like to think (ignorantly by your recount) that I’ll be treated as a business ‘person’ and not like a ‘women’. However I am also pragmatic so it sounds like it is something that I should encompass more..

Thanks Rebekah, I’m a year in to my tech start-up and my experience has been spookily similar. Thanks for such a thoughtful piece that is reassuring to me because the experience of being a female entrepreneur IS different and it’s nice to know the experience is shared. We are part of shaping a brand new world of start-up and I just love that. Would be lovely to meet you at some point and hear your pearls of wisdom. Jem
